The Truth Is So Simple

The truth is so simple when we think about being alone at our desks. I need to tell my leader the "truth" about their idea or tell my direct report the truth about their performance. Tell a peer the "truth" about why that plan. Someone once told me, " the truth is never inappropriate." That can sound too good, so self-righteous, it's an excuse for workplaces where sharing "truth" is a daily game of paper cuts so deep you could bleed out.

See What Is Possible - By Cynthia Jurado

I am so excited when I meet a new client. The very process of learning about their hopes and goals thrills me. Some asked if I missed leading a large team myself, and I had to stop and think about it. I loved the years that I spent working with my teams. I am proud of the work we did together. We created some fantastic programs and had an impact on thousands of clients. Yet, I never in all that time did not have one-on-one clients I coached, and the truth be told, I am a leader who loves coaching teams. I lead through coaching, as many good leaders do.

Plan To Energize Yourself

Angela Merkel, has been Chancellor of Germany for sixteen years, as Merkel leaves office this year, she has an enormous 62% approval rating. Her remarkable ability, doesn’t sound very remarkable, but it is, simply put, her consistency. People will choose what they know over and over again, unless their personal comfort threshold is negatively impacted.

What is the real truth about your Org chart? By Gary Buffini

There are many military leaders who have written leadership books and are popular on the speaking circuit. Don't get me wrong, but despite the great leadership lessons that they have learned and the great intellects that they use to impart great knowledge, what they have to say in relation to your 'civilian populated' work life is for the most part, IRRELEVANT!

Recalibrating By Cynthia Jurado

What does the New Year mean to you? As a coach, I love this time of renewal, setting new goals and targets, and recalibrating our rhythms. The truth is this is an artificial starting line, but that is all we sometimes need to take a breather and reset. I do goal-setting differently with all my clients. While I am naturally wired for big, bold, long-range goals, I love a strategy with vision and passion. I approach my clients with a view toward what they want to grow. I focus on their planning muscles. Plus, where their profile is designed to be brilliant. We all have them, how we look at setting up a goal and then the journey to complete it.

Myth Busters

Over the years I have experienced 'perpetuated myths’ when reviewing clients dominant abilities, the number one misnomer is that “everyone has the same abilities as I do, they are just being lazy and stupid.” It may seem that it’s not a well thought out statement, rather, it’s a visceral response, it’s a knee-jerk reaction that isn’t based on fact. Not only are we not alike we are extremely distinctive and nuanced in our unique individual design.

RAZOR BOOMERANG

Sincere communication can have the intent of honest, pure truth, HOWEVER, the derivation of the word sincere is ‘sin’, which is the archery term to miss the mark, to miss the target. I believe that when Elon Musk intended to communicate in a way to ‘rally the team and work hard’, HOWEVER, what is said and what is heard can be wildly different.

The New Normal

So it occurred to me, as I was frantically stopping the washer, to extract my iPhone from a soggy hoodie pocket, that I’m ‘off’. There is no doubt that billions of people are experiencing being in the ‘spin cycle’ right now, being ‘off’ is the new evolving normal.
